Ligament Learning was founded by a New Zealand-based physiotherapist and clinic owner with over a decade of experience recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring international physios.
We specialise in supporting overseas-trained physiotherapists — especially those from Asia and Africa — as they transition into the New Zealand workforce. Our courses are built from real-world experience, not theory: everything we teach reflects what actually works in clinics, interviews, and documentation systems here in New Zealand.
Whether you're preparing for interviews, learning how ACC works, or adjusting to local communication and documentation standards, we’re here to help you succeed — not just on paper, with practical, culturally relevant, and honest training that helps you succeed in real clinical environments.
"I’ve met physios from every corner of the world — passionate, brilliant, and so ready to work — yet held back not only by systems they don’t know, but by clinic's uncertainty around whether international physios can meet New Zealand’s high clinical standards.
You didn’t come this far just to be overlooked. Ligament Learning is my way of opening the door and saying: here’s everything I’ve learned — the inside knowledge, the expectations, the unspoken rules.
It’s time to turn your potential into impact — and we’ll show you how.”
We work with physios from all over the world — and these are the questions we hear most often from those preparing to work in New Zealand.
This course is designed especially for internationally trained physiotherapists from countries in Africa and Asia. If you're planning to move to New Zealand or are in the early stages of applying for jobs here, this training will give you the confidence, cultural insight, and clinical knowledge you need to feel prepared — and to show NZ clinics that you are clinic-ready.
Yes — the courses are 100% online and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. In fact, we recommend it. Many physios from countries like Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines have used this training before arriving in New Zealand — to prepare early, build their confidence, and avoid delays. Everything is online, self-paced, and available no matter where you're currently based.
Yes — but not in the way you might expect. This course doesn’t apply for jobs for you, but it gives you the exact tools and inside knowledge NZ employers are looking for. From CV formatting to interview preparation, documentation expectations to cultural communication — this course helps you avoid the mistakes that often cost international physios job offers. We help you become the candidate clinics want to hire.
While this course isn’t officially required by clinics, it’s based on real hiring and onboarding experience from inside New Zealand physiotherapy practices. Amy, the course creator, has interviewed and hired hundreds of international physios — and everything in this course reflects the most common gaps, mistakes, and expectations she’s seen in real candidates. It’s the kind of training many clinic owners wish physios had before applying.
All of our courses have lifetime access.
Being qualified is the first step. But New Zealand has a very specific set of clinical, cultural, and communication expectations that often aren’t taught in other countries. We focus on what physios from Africa and Asia aren’t told — like how to write detailed case notes, how ACC funding works, and how to approach patient communication the Kiwi way. This course helps you meet patient and clinic expectations before you start working.
